For Federal Buyers
IUID Labels for Federal Buyers — Direct, Open-Market, GPC-Ready.
For contracting officers, program buyers, and government purchase card holders buying MIL-STD-130N Class 1 IUID labels directly — not through a prime. Front Range Marking is a SAM-registered vendor (CAGE 1ZYB4) that quotes in one business day, accepts purchase orders and the GPC, and holds no minimum order quantity.
Who this page is for
This page is for the buyer holding the requirement directly: a contracting officer or contracting specialist placing an open-market order, a program or property buyer who needs IUID or asset-tag labels for fielded equipment, or a government purchase card holder making a micro-purchase. If you are a prime contractor sourcing a sub-tier supplier, that engagement is documented separately.
The common thread: you want a SAM-registered, CAGE-coded vendor who returns a clean quote quickly, marks to MIL-STD-130N, and accepts the payment mechanism you already use.
How a direct purchase works
Front Range Marking sells to federal buyers on the open market. The identifiers a buyer needs to set up the vendor and cut an award:
- Legal name: Front Range Marking
- UEI: K72KW9ZXWF44
- CAGE Code: 1ZYB4
- Primary NAICS: 323111 · Commercial Printing (Other)
- SAM.gov registration: active, representations and certifications complete
- Socio-economic: Veteran-Owned Small Business; SDVOSB certification pending with the SBA’s VetCert program
- Performance & ship-from: Longmont, CO 80501 · ships nationwide to U.S. federal customers
There is no minimum order quantity. A single label is acceptable. See the full contracting facts for set-aside eligibility and the documents available on request.
Payment and funding mechanisms
- Government Purchase Card (GPC). Accepted for micro-purchase-level orders — the fastest path for a small, in-stock-substrate run.
- Purchase Order (PO). The standard vehicle for larger or scheduled orders.
- Check, ACH / wire, and the Invoice Payment Platform (IPP). Supported for agencies that require them.
If the order will be placed against a specific contract vehicle or BPA, note it in the request and Front Range Marking will quote to fit it rather than asking the buyer to fit a preset list.
What to include in your request
Provide what is available; leave the rest blank and Front Range Marking will follow up.
- Drawing or marked-up specification — PDF preferred.
- Substrate — a specific Zebra family, or a delegation to recommend one for the service environment.
- UII content — explicit per-item UIIs or the construct rule that generates them.
- Label dimensions, quantity, and required-by date.
- Standards reference — e.g., MIL-STD-130N Class 1, MIL-STD-129R, or an agency-specific spec.
- Verification scope — whether documented ISO/IEC 15415 grade-B verification is required.
- Ship-to and funding mechanism (PO, GPC, etc.).
Lead time
- RFQ to quote: typically one business day.
- Stock substrate (Z-Ultimate 4000T white matte polyester): production on the order of days from PO.
- Substrate sourced on order (silver matte, outdoor, polyimide, tamper-evident): add the distributor’s shipping window, typically 1–3 business days.
Indicate any hard delivery date at the RFQ stage so substrate can be staged and press time reserved. For Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), do not use the form or unencrypted email — submit the form noting CUI is involved and Front Range Marking will coordinate an out-of-band channel per DFARS 252.204-7012 / NIST SP 800-171.
Frequently asked questions
Can a federal buyer purchase IUID labels directly?
Yes. Front Range Marking is a SAM-registered vendor (CAGE 1ZYB4, UEI K72KW9ZXWF44, NAICS 323111). A contracting officer or program buyer can purchase MIL-STD-130N Class 1 IUID labels directly on the open market by PO, GPC, or check. No minimum order quantity.
Do you accept the government purchase card (GPC)?
Yes. The GPC is accepted for micro-purchase-level orders, which suits short-run, zero-minimum label work. Purchase order, check, ACH/wire, and the Invoice Payment Platform (IPP) are also supported.
What do you need to provide a quote?
A drawing or spec, substrate (or a delegation to recommend), UII content or construct rule, label dimensions, quantity, required-by date, ship-to, the governing standard, verification scope, and funding mechanism. Provide what is available; the rest can be resolved on follow-up.
How fast is a quote, and what is the lead time?
Quote turnaround is typically one business day. Stock substrate produces in days from PO; substrate sourced on order adds the distributor’s shipping window, typically 1–3 business days.
How is CUI handled on a direct purchase?
Do not send CUI through the web form or unencrypted email. Submit the form noting that CUI is involved, and Front Range Marking will coordinate an out-of-band channel consistent with DFARS 252.204-7012 and NIST SP 800-171.
